Got a question we haven’t covered here? Drop us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, we’d be happy to help.
What is cyber security?
Cyber security is the practice of protecting systems, people and information from digital attacks. These attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing and destroying sensitive information. This could be in the form of extorting money from users, illegally releasing confidential information, or interrupting normal business process.
What is cyber risk?
Cyber risk means any risk of financial loss, disruption or damage to the reputation of an organisation from some sort of failure of its information technology systems.
What can I do?
Choosing strong passwords, being wary of attachments in email and backing up data are a good place to start. Sadly, however, cyber risk is present wherever we are, it’s particularly important to ensure our practices are as strong when we are travelling as when we are safe in the office.
What does RFID stand-for?
Radio-Frequency Identification. These are small chips that can be found on your debit and credit card, as well as small electronic devices. The RFID barcode or magnetic strip must be scanned to get the information. Modern smartphones, passwords and payment cards use this technology to make life easier - such as when we pay for goods and services.
